Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol (CMCA)

Goal: To reduce underage youth access to alcohol, and to correct our community’s misperceptions in order to reduce underage drinking in Mifflin County

Activities:
  • Currently hosting a radio call-in talkshow on WIEZ to educate the community on the laws and consequences of underage drinking. Tune in to 670 AM on the third Thursday of every month at 8:15 a.m.
  • Supporting the keg registration bill in PA. Your letters of support are needed! Contact CTC for more information.
  • This group’s long term goal is to educate the community about, and enforce, the PA Social Host Law*, to reduce teen’s access to alcohol, thereby decreasing teen alcohol use.
* If an underage youth is illegally provided alcohol and then injures someone as a result of that alcohol use, a Social Host Liability Policy enables a third party to sue the individual who provided the alcohol.
